    AF-S Nikkor 14-24mm f/2.8G ED

When you gotta go wide, this lens is great. Landscapes, scenes, super dramatic portraiture.  Be careful of putting people on the edges, though, ‘cause you’ll turn them into unflattering shapes.

    AF-S NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8G ED

I do a lot of environmental portraiture, so this lens goes out with me all the time.  Super sharp, fast, rugged. Not for classic portraiture, but for a face in a place, telling a story, it’s terrific.

    AF-S NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II

Again, goes out with me just about all the time. Great portrait lens.  Sharp all the way through the zoom, and edge to edge.

    AF-S NIKKOR 200mm f/2G ED VR II

My hands-down favorite telephoto lens, and maybe the sharpest tele I’ve ever used. It’s my go-to glass for theater/dance, and dramatic minimum DOF portraiture.

    AF-S NIKKOR 24mm f/1.4G ED

Fast and sharp wide angle prime. Gotta be careful with where you drop that cursor when working at 1.4!

Another super fast prime. Thank God Nikon started making good primes again. Great environmental portrait lens.

    AF-S NIKKOR 85mm f/1.4G

Very sharp I often use for tight portraits. Doesn’t focus close enough for me to go to it all the time, and the AF itself isn’t quite as fast as i’d like, but when you nail it at 1.4, it’s amazing.
