    Nikon Df

Excellent, unobtrusive walk around camera. Who knew we’d get to a point that a camera that looks like your father’s camera (or in my case, my camera) would have a sporty, fancy D4 chip in it? This classic model camera, based roughly along the lines of the famed Nikon FM2, has a lot of the old elegance with a lot of the new bells and whistles of the digital era. It is a pure photog’s camera, in keeping with its classic lines, it shoots pictures only, no video. It has a very quiet shutter, and is light on the shoulder to carry all day long.

    Nikon D4s

It’s the new beast on the block for us. A true workhorse camera. I have already boomed it out of a helicopter over a sulfurous, molten lava flow. It works just as hard as I do in the field. AF is improved, and the liaison between this camera’s brain and the TTL brain of the speed lights is like a Vulcan mind meld. They think alike, and sort out exposure really well. It has the legendary durability of the Nikon construction, and it’s fast, and intuitive. Some of the control buttons have been tweaked, so they perform better as well.
